Mating/Breeding Goldfish

Equipment Needed:

1)1-2ft Breeding Aquarium tank

2)Sponge or Corner Box Filter

3)Air Pump + Valve

4)Brine Shrimp Eggs

5)2 GoldFishes (Male <Vent Inwards Concave   & Female <Ass Vent Protruding)

6)Plants or Breeding Mops

Natural Spawning;

1. Place both fishes in the Cycled tank(With Spongfilter air blowing, Plants).
2. Feed Them 3 times intervals 4-5hours apart daily
3. Change 20%-50% of Aged/de-chlorinated water daily. (By Changing water, a drop or increase temperature is induced, this will cultivate a spawning habit for the goldfishes.
4. Let nature takes it course. The Male will start chasing the female stomach, pushing it, and pushing her vent(Ass). They will start rubbing each other side by side like a 69. Once the female is ready, she will lay her eggs on plants, and the male will go over the plants and spray his milt(Sperm).
5. Check the plants for eggs laid.(Eggs looks like small little bubbles, white/opague or transparent or amber coloured)
6. White eggs are infertile, Transparent is fertilized eggs, while amber(never encountered before)
7. Take Both Parents out after spawn, as they will eat them as soon as they sees the eggs.

Hand Spawning

Note:Please do it gently, they are fragile, and apply little/slight rub on their stomach. The part Its soft if you do it correctly.

1)Use a bowl, add abit of aged/dechl water.

2)take the male and squeeze the male milt out on the bowl, and stir the water with your bare hands. Do it couple of times like 3-4 times if the milt is little, of course if alot came out basically you just do it once or twice is enough.

3) take the female  do the same, stir.. you will see strings of sticky eggs.

4) stir the water gently and let the eggs mixed with milt.

5) you may pour the bowl into your breeding tank(add methylene blue to your tank to protect the eggs).
